White (Roberto)

An English subject who resided in Madeira for several years and wrote an interesting and valuable work in 1851 entitled Madeira, its climate and scenery. In 1850 and 1851, he made meteorological observations in Funchal and Machico. In 1857, still during White's lifetime, a second edition of his work was published, edited and expanded by James Yate Johnson (see this name).
