Viola de Arame

A musical instrument with wire strings, only played by peasants. Its tuning, as informed by Captain Eduardo A. dos Santos Pereira, a distinguished amateur musician, is as follows: E (bass), A, D, G, B, E (treble).

The viola de arame is an instrument appreciated by peasants and their companion on their journeys, but the sounds it produces are not very pleasant to the educated ear.
