Vila

A populated area in the parish of Câmara de Lobos, encompassing a part of the cluster of houses around the small cove. It is the seat of the municipality and houses the Municipal Hall, various public offices, the telegraph-postal station, the Parish Church, and the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceição. This locality has never been elevated to the status of a town, despite commonly being referred to as such, even in official documents (See the articles under the title of Câmara de Lobos).
