Vigário (Ribeira do)

Watercourse that flows into the Ocean, west of the so-called village of Câmara de Lobos. Near its mouth, a major landslide occurred on March 4, 1930, which, with great force, pushed the seawater into the river entrance, dragging about twenty people to a disastrous death. A considerable part of this river is also known by the name of Ribeira da Caixa.
