Vieira de Castro (Dr. Luís)

He was born in this city on May 10, 1898, the son of Henrique Augusto Vieira de Castro and D. Alegria Adida Vieira de Castro. He attended the high school in Funchal and holds a bachelor's degree in law from the University of Coimbra.

He began his career in literature at an early age, collaborating in various newspapers and publishing some of his writings in a volume while still attending our high school. He has already made a significant contribution to many newspapers and magazines, having been an editor and regular contributor to some periodicals in Coimbra. At the end of 1923, he started the publication of a daily newspaper in this city called Jornal da Madeira, of which he is the director. He published the following volumes:
