Azevedo (Carlos Olavo Correia de)

He was elected as a deputy for Madeira to the Constituent Cortes on May 28, 1911. He was again chosen as our representative in the cortes, being elected on June 13, 1915. He is a law graduate and was born in Funchal on July 7, 1880. He held the position of general secretary of the Civil Government of Lisbon when he was mobilized to be part of the Portuguese expeditionary force, going to France and being taken prisoner by the Germans in the combat of April 9, 1918. He is a descendant of Domingos Olavo Correia de Azevedo, who was Civil Governor of this district in 1841, and brother of Captain Americo Olavo de Azevedo, whom we have already discussed in this Elucidario.
