Valente (Steamship) / Valente (Vapor)

The first steamship used in the coastal service of this island was the so-called Steamship Valente, which arrived in Funchal from England on September 1, 1872 and ran aground on November 11, 1876. There was the imprudence of leaving it anchored to the land of Ilhéu when a violent storm from the south began to blow, heading towards the coast, under the Quinta Lambert, where it was completely destroyed.
