Azeredo
Manuel de Faria Azeredo, who, in the mid-16th century, shipwrecked in Madeira while en route to India, married on the island, established residence, and had descendants. However, his surname, which is of noble Portuguese lineage, did not spread among us because his son, Manuel de Faria, adopted the surname Almeida, perhaps from his mother, instead of Azeredo inherited from his father.
