Travessa do Porto Santo

The stretch of sea between the islands of Madeira (Ilhéu de Fora, at Ponta de São Lourenço) and Porto Santo (Ilhéu de Baixo or da Cal) is commonly referred to as 'Travessa'. It is approximately 27 miles long. Large storms often occur there, and the sea is generally rough in these parts.
