Torrinhas (Boca das)

It establishes the passage between the Serra da Boa Ventura and the top of Lombo Grande in Curral das Freiras. The neighboring mountains are still covered with lush vegetation, and beautiful laurel forests can also be seen on the side of Boa Ventura, as well as numerous specimens of Isoplexis sceptrum, one of the most beautiful shrubs in Madeira. (1921) On the rocks flanking the Boca das Torrinhas, Sedum farinosum, a small indigenous crassulacea that is not found in the lower region of the island, grows abundantly. The Torrinhas are 1,454 meters above sea level, 5 hours' journey from Boa Ventura, and 3 hours from Curral das Freiras.
