Tôrre

Site in the parish of Câmara de Lobos. There is the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Boa Hora, founded by the landowner António Correia Bettencourt Berenguer, who belonged to the house of the counts of Torre Bela, from which this site took the title of their county. João Afonso Correia, one of Zargo's companions, had many sesmaria lands in Câmara de Lobos, including the site of Tôrre and others, being considered the trunk of that distinguished and ancient Madeiran family.
