English Tomato Plant (Physalis peruviana) / Tomateiro Inglês (Phyaalis peruviana)

A Solanaceae with heart-shaped leaves and globular berries, perfectly naturalized in Madeira. These berries are edible, and a very tasty sweet is made with them. Toninha. Name given in Madeira to the young individuals of two species of cetaceans: Phooaena communis and Delphinus delphis.
