Tintureira (Rhamrms latifoUa)
Indigenous tree of the Ramnáceas family, perfectly extinct in the mountains of Madeira. It is found in some estates of Monte, and is recognized by its elliptical, acuminate, subglabrous leaves, with parallel and equidistant lateral veins, and by its small, yellowish, pedunculated, axillary flowers. It is also known by the name of wild cherry tree and produces chestnut or reddish wood, hard and homogeneous.
