Telegraphs / Telégrafos

At the time when the electric cable was established in Madeira, the following telegraphs were present, communicating with each other through signals: the one at Pico do Facho in Machico, the one at Pico de Agua in Caniço, and the one at Pico da Cruz in S. Martinho.

In earlier times, we know that there were telegraphs in Câmara de Lobos, Ponta do Pargo, and Garajau, the latter lasting from 1839 to 1847.
