Plantain / Tanchagem

Two species are known by this name in Madeira: Plantago lanceolata and P. major. The first species has broadly ovate leaves, 5-7 veined. The decoction of the leaves of these two Plantaginaceae, both very common in Madeira, is widely used in eye diseases.
