Surdo (Travessa do)

It connects Dr. Vieira Street, or Carreira Street, with the Largo de S. Pedro, and on April 24, 1919, at the request of the Civil Registry Association, it was named after the Madeiran Augusto José Vieira. Augusto José Vieira, brother of councilor Manuel José Vieira, was born in Funchal on October 2, 1861, and died in Lisbon on December 27, 1918.
