Sociedade Protectora dos Animais Domésticos

It was established on January 6, 1897, and legalized by decree on May 6 of the same year, being considered of public utility by decree on March 16, 1914. It has benefactor members and subscribers, and the fees, which were originally 10 cents, were raised to 50 cents in 1921.

There was another society with the same name, which was established at Hotel Miles, on Rua do Carmo, on March 1, 1880.
