Seixo (Salix canariensis)

Shrub or small tree with lanceolate, grayish, glaucous leaves on the underside; dioecious flowers arranged in catkins. It is common in the riverbeds and many humid rocks of Madeira. The wood of this Salicaceae is light and dull or reddish in color; it is used for inlays.
