São Pedro (Baron of) / São Pedro (Barão de)
To what we have said about this compatriot on page 261 of volume I of this work, it should be added that he wrote a pamphlet entitled 'On alcohol and alcoholic compounds in surgery,' and that he was the son-in-law of the 1st Baron of São Pedro (volume III, page 27) and the father of D. Josefina de Castelo Branco Ribeiro da Cunha, who, in this city, as the wife of the Civil Governor José Ribeiro da Cunha, rendered valuable services to the underprivileged classes, with her portrait preserved in the meeting room of the administrative committee of the Funchal Mercy (1921).
