Santo André Avelino (Capela de)

In the place of Carvalhal in the parish of Canhas, there is the chapel of Santo André Avelino, founded in 1776 by Captain Carlos Nunes de Freitas da Silva and his wife D. Ana Guiomar de Moura Acciaioly Lomelino. It belonged to the house of the morgado Nuno de Freitas Lomelino. On one of the walls, there is this inscription, placed there a few years ago: Offered by Jacintho Fernandes and completed by José dos Reis and Povo». On the stonework of the door, there is the date 1774.
