Common name for Mentha aquatica and a hybrid resulting from the crossing of this species by M. viridis. M. aquatica is common in the beds of many streams, and both it and the mentioned hybrid (the former M. citrata) are aromatic Labiadas, used, although rarely, in rural medicine. M. aquatica is also known by the name of mentastro.
