Salviati
This family name, according to the annotator of Saudades da Terra, "comes from João Salviati, a native of Florence, who, implicated in a conspiracy against the Medicis, took refuge on the island of Madeira around 1478; here he married Isabel Alvares de Abreu and was granted land in Câmara de Lobos on the Socorridos riverbank, near the sea. His descendants adopted the surname Florenças."
