Sempervivum Glutinosum / Saião

Name of the Sempervivum glutinosum, a sub-shrubbery, viscous Crassulacea, very common in Madeira. The juice of this plant is used internally and externally in the treatment of lesions or wounds caused by falls, etc. It also serves to make the lines used by fishermen in fishing more rigid and durable. There is another type of Sempervivum, the S. arboreum, which is cultivated in gardens. The juice of the leaves of this species is recommended for corns.
