Elderberry (Sambucus maderensis) / Sabugueiro (Sambucus maderensis)

Shrub or small tree with glabrous leaves, with 5-7 oblong-lanceolate or lanceolate segments and yellowish or whitish flowers, arranged in cymes. It is found in Ribeiro Frio, Boaventura, Santana, etc., and is cultivated in Camacha and other parts of Madeira. Elderberry flowers, when infused, are used for gargling in throat inflammations, etc.
