Individuals with this family name are descended from: some from Mem Rodrigues de Vasconcelos, married to a daughter of Bartolomeu Perestrelo; others, from Garcia Rodrigues da Câmara, father of Aldonça Delgado, the wife of the 3rd donatary of Porto Santo, who was murdered by her; others, from João Rodrigues, who lived in the 16th century and had a populated estate near Calheta; and finally, others from João Rodrigues Neto, who died in 1531, had a sesmaria in S. Martinho, and died on the street called dos Netos, in the parish of S. Pedro.
