Assunção (Dr. Manuel da)

This well-known politician and statesman was elected as a deputy for Madeira for the parliamentary session from 1892 to 1893. Having died on March 23, 1893, while in office, the most voted candidate, Dr. Antonio Vicente Varela, was called to fill this vacancy. Manuel da Assunção was born in Vila Real on May 10, 1844.
