Rãs

Two species of these amphibians are known in Madeira: the Rana temporaria and the Hyla arborea. The former, introduced by the former Count of Carvalhal in the first quarter of the 19th century, now lives in almost all the ponds on the island; the latter, a small green species, lives in the trees of some gardens in Funchal, and the time of its introduction is unknown.
