Ramos Coelho (José)

This well-known writer, now deceased, published a pamphlet in 1898, entitled A ilha da Madeira, which is a poetic composition extolling the natural beauties of this island and which is also included in his Complete Works (Lisbon, 1910). Ramos Coelho visited Funchal in his youth to study some old documents from the house of the Count of Carvalhal.
