Associação Católica do Funchal

It was founded in 1874. Its statutes were approved by the superior chief of the district by decree of August 10, 1874, and received the approval of the diocesan ecclesiastical authority by provision of August 21 of the same year. After the Commercial Association and the Mutual Aid Association on September 4, 1862, it is currently the oldest of the associations existing in this city.
