Ponte Nova (Rua da)

The current street of this name connects the left bank of the Santa Luzia stream with Calçada da Incarnação, but the old one extended to Rua dos Ferreiros, thus encompassing a part of the current Rua dos Netos. This part of the street was opened in 1833.

The works of the so-called Ponte Nova, over the Ribeira de Santa Luzia, were awarded for 890$00 réis, in a council session on May 25, 1768.
