Rock Dove (Columba livia) / Pombo Bravo (Columba livia)

A columbid bird that appears on the coastal rocks and ravines throughout the island. It has sociable habits, forming small groups during breeding that settle in the inaccessible coastal rocks. Its nest is crude, and the laying, consisting of two eggs of a slightly bluish white color, can take place twice a year.

It is also known by the names rock dove, rock pigeon, and domestic pigeon, the latter designation being used only when raised in the numerous dovecotes throughout the island.
