Peres (Damião)

He was born in Lisbon on July 8, 1889. For several years, he was a teacher and rector of the high school in Funchal and is currently a lecturer at the Faculty of Arts of Porto. In addition to the works he published on D. Joao I and Portugal and the Schism, he brought to light in Funchal, in 1914, a pamphlet entitled A Madeira under the donatários, which is quite relevant to the history of this archipelago in the period until the beginning of the Filipino rule on this island (See II-100).

He is the author of important historical studies, among which his History of Portugal stands out.
