Armitage (Eleonora)

An English botanist who collected plants in Madeira in the early part of the year 1909. She made a collection of mosses, which was studied by H. N. Dixon, and wrote the following works: 'Some Madeira Hepaficae' (Journ. of Botany, 1910); 'Intensive Cultivation in Madeira' (Journ. of Royal Hortic. Soc., 1910); and 'On the Habitats and frequencies of some Madeira Bryophytes' (Journ. of Ecology, VI, 1918).
