Paiol

The military powder magazine was built in 1825, with the respective works being budgeted at 5,358,000 réis in 1819. It has the royal arms above the door, and underneath them, the year 1825. Before the construction of the current powder magazine, the gunpowder was stored in the fortress of S. João do Pico. The Paiol road was greatly improved in 1815, with the works being carried out directly by the City Council.
