Ornelas (Juvenal Honório de)

Doctor of medicine from the school of Paris. He was born on this island and died here, at the age of 67, on October 20, 1873. He was a professor at the defunct medical school of Funchal. Works: Dissertation on the treatment of postpartum hemorrhage, by compressing the abdominal aorta on the belly, the suitable position of the uterus, and the use of ergotized rye and tonics (thesis); Paris, 1834.
