Nossa Senhora da Apresentação (Chapel of) / Nossa Senhora da Apresentação (Capela de)

The site of the parish of Ribeira Brava, now known by the name Lombo da Apresentação, took its name from the chapel that stood there and was dedicated to Our Lady of the Presentation. It was founded by Isabel Fernandes Tavares in the year 1524 on the entailed lands she owned there. This chapel was later incorporated into the Heredia family estate. Next to the chapel, there used to be a sumptuous residence of which no traces remain.
