Norça (Tamus edulis)

A native twining Dioscoreaceae, cultivated in Achadas da Cruz and Porto do Moniz, due to its edible tubers. In its wild state, it has only been found in Garajau. Frutuoso mentions it in Porto Santo, where it is now perfectly extinct. It has diœcious, purplish flowers, and cordate, acuminate leaves, with 9 veins.
