Nobre (Dr. Augusto)

This distinguished man of science is the brother of the poet António Nobre and was born in Porto in 1865, where he taught at the university for many years. He has a vast and valuable scientific work, enriching the Madeiran bibliography with some remarkable works, including "Marine Testaceous Mollusks of the Madeira Archipelago", "Terrestrial and Freshwater Mollusks of the Madeira Archipelago", and "The Globicephalus in the Seas of Madeira".
