Mendonça

This family name may perhaps descend from the donors of Porto Santo and Machico, as Bartolomeu Perestrelo, the first donor of that island, married Beatriz Furtado de Mendonça, and João Teixeira, the third son of Tristão Vaz, married Filipa de Mendonça Furtado, from whom Tristão de Mendonça was born.
