Annona (Annona cherimola) / Anoneira (Anona Cherimolia)

A tree native to Peru and New Granada, frequently cultivated in Madeira up to an altitude of 300 meters. Two varieties of Annona are known on the island: one with almost smooth fruits and the other with fruits adorned with more or less long protuberances. The first is the most appreciated. Annona muricata and A. reticulata are also cultivated in Madeira, but only as a curiosity.
