Medina

This family name is, according to Dr. Alvaro R. de Azevedo, of Spanish origin, and it is possible that it appeared on the island during the Spanish rule. The Medina family of Cape Verde is of Madeiran origin.

In 1930, Dr. João Cabral do Nascimento published the interesting pamphlet "Genealogy of the Medina Family of the Island of Madeira".
