Distinguished Madeiran musician born in 1841 and died in Funchal on April 9, 1909. He was a disciple of the famous violinist Agostinho Robio when he was only 10 years old, later becoming an extremely distinguished musician, on par in knowledge and execution with the best national and foreign violinists. He was the founder of the Marcos Portugal Academy, the Funchal Concert Society, and the Restauração de Portugal philharmonic, and in the last years of his life, he organized the sextet that bore his name and which gained a distinguished reputation among us.
