Madre-Silva

Common name for Lonicera etrusca, native to the Mediterranean region, and L. confusa, native to China and Japan, plants common in Madeira and belonging to the Caprifoliaceae family. The first of these plants is perfectly naturalized on the island; the second only appears in gardens. The L. longiflora is a madre-silva with large flowers, cultivated in some gardens in Funchal.
