Machico (Count of) / Machico (Conde de)

Carlos Stuart, extraordinary envoy and plenipotentiary minister of England in Lisbon, and a member of the government of the Kingdom of Portugal during the Peninsular War, was granted the title of Count of Machico by decree of November 22, 1825, and the title of Marquis of Angra by decree of May 1 of the following year. He had descendants, but it is not known if the title of Count of Machico was perpetuated in his descendants. He died in 1845.
