Lombo da Igreja

Lombo da Igreja is a populated place in the parish of Estreito da Calheta. It is usually divided into two places: Igreja Acima and Igreja Abaixo, according to their relative position to the Parish Church. In this place is the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, founded by André de França e Andrade around 1672, which was the headquarters of one of the largest estates in Madeira and was last administered by the 1st Count of Calçada (1812-1906).
