Limoeiro (Citrus medica subesp. Limonium)

Rutacea from the Himalayas, widely cultivated in Madeira. The juice of its fruits is used for making lemonades and is useful in certain throat inflammations. The lemon tree that produces the lemons called 'galinha' is the acidic variety of the sub-species Limonium.
