Plum Tree (Prunus domestica) / Ameixieira (Prunus domestica)

Tree of the Rosaceae family, subfamily Prunoideae, widely cultivated in Madeira. It is native to the East and produces oblong or globular fruits, usually of excellent quality. The green plum or Queen Claudia is one of the most delicious on the island. Overripe plums are slightly laxative.
