Jorge (Francisco)

This architect and engineer was appointed by royal charter on February 10, 1595, to oversee the fortification works of this island. He was the father of João Bartolomeu, whom we have already discussed in this Elucidario. (See Disc. dos Arch. e Eng. Port. vol. 2.°, p. 38).
