Hissopo (Satureja thymoides)

A small woody Labiate, with sessile or almost sessile leaves, appearing linear because they are rolled on the margins, and purplish corollas, small, with the tube included or almost included in the calyx. It is very common in almost the entire archipelago, where it is used as an expectorant. The hyssop from pharmacies (Hyssopus officinalis) is not found in Madeira, not even cultivated.
