Henriques (Jordão Mauricio)

He is the son of António Maria Henriques, attended the lyceum and the Higher School of Letters, and was born in Funchal on October 15, 1880. He was a clerk interpreter at the Health Station and a teacher at the Higher Primary School, also serving as an interim teacher at the Lyceum. He was an editor of the former Diário Popular and had a wide and valuable collaboration in other Madeiran newspapers, with his writings standing out for their refined literary style.

In 1922, he published a book entitled Da Pátria e da Escola. Having pursued a diplomatic career, he served for several years in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is currently the Consul General of Portugal in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
